Women of Gibraltar

Project commissioned by the Ministry of Equality to address the lack of literature on women and women’s contributions within Gibraltar history. It explores the contributions of 38 women in multiple fields including policing, nursing, archaeology and golf to name a few.

I was commissioned to paint all 38 women as well as create the book cover design and full book layout.

In some instances where there were no images of the ladies that we were documenting (esp 15th to 17th century born women)we used sources to reference the fashion and dress of the time. All attempts were made to make these women as historically accurate as possible.
