Bio
For me, art is about celebrating the perfectly imperfect. I started my career as a banker but felt little sense of connection with that career so every day after my 9-6 slog I would sit down and pick up a paintbrush. I started to create artworks that reflected the Japanese art of kintsugi whereby broken objects are repaired with a resin made with gold. This not only makes the cracks more apparent but it makes the overall object more valuable and beautiful.
This idea of celebrating the beauty of the imperfection in the world around us is a theme that is still present in my work today. It is further highlighted by my painterly style. No two brushstrokes are created the same and just like how no two human beings are the same there is an inherent beauty in that.
