Milanese architect Boschetti who arrived in Gibraltar after the Great Siege in 1783 was responsible for transforming the style of architecture in Gibraltar. He created the concrete arches above the doorways, along with the wrought iron gate which was placed above door.
Upper Town 2 is an example of this charming, Italian style of architecture. It is a study in colour with the paint liberally and quickly applied to get a sense of movement and of the crumbling of this grand but old entrance way.
